How do I schedule an appointment?

Please call me at 202-495-0635 or email me at juliarosenfieldmsw@gmail.com to set up a complimentary phone consultation. If, following our conversation, we agree that I might be a good fit for you, we can schedule an in-person meeting. I offer daytime hours during the week.

Do you accept insurance and are you in my network?

I do not participate with any commercial health insurance, and I am considered an out-of-network provider. My services may be reimbursable through your plan's out-of-network mental health benefit. For clients with Georgetown University Student Health Insurance (GUSHI), I will work directly with your insurance to process claims. Prior to beginning treatment, you may wish to verify your coverage. If you choose to do so, I suggest asking the following questions:

  • Does my plan include coverage for out-of-network mental health services?

  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

  • What is my deductible for out-of-network services and has it been met?

  • Do I have a session limit?

  • Is precertification required?

For your convenience, I will provide you with a statement which includes all of the information you will need to submit for reimbursement. That said, it is your responsibility to pay me directly at the time of service. Unless other arrangements are made, I accept cash, check, or credit card. Please see below for more information about the availability of a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of treatment and your right to be protected from “surprise billing.”

How long are sessions and how often will we meet?

I offer 45-minute sessions, usually scheduled once weekly. There may be times that meeting more frequently would be helpful in deepening our work, and we can discuss this option together.

How long will I be in therapy?

It is very understandable to want to know from the beginning how long therapy will last; however, the length of treatment will vary for each person depending on your specific concerns and goals. I work with clients in both short- and long-term therapy. As part of our collaboration, we will work together to determine the right length of treatment for you.

Yes, I provide teletherapy via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video portal. This service is currently available to clients located in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Do you offer teletherapy?

Yes. In accordance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect January 1, 2022, it is my responsibility to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services, which I will make available when we schedule an appointment, or at any time upon your request.

The No Surprises Act also requires me to inform you of your federal rights and protections against “surprise billing.” You have the right to receive a notification when services are provided by a non-participating provider, such as myself, and you have the option to choose to see an in-network provider instead. As my practices does not participate with any insurance company, all of my services are considered out-of-network. If you prefer to see a participating provider, I will attempt to help you with a referral to a therapist outside of my practice who is in-network with your insurance plan.
